1. About this Policy

Grade Tracker Pro ("GTP", "we", "us") is a student planning and productivity platform designed for Western Australian secondary students. This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. What We Collect

We collect information you provide or that is created through your use of GTP:

Payments	Subscription status, plan type, billing metadata. Card data is processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers.

3. How We Collect It

• Directly from you when you sign up, add subjects, record assessments, create tasks, or use other features
• From your school if your account is provisioned under an institutional licence
• Automatically via Firebase services (e.g., Analytics, Crashlytics) and standard web technologies (cookies/local storage)

4. Why We Use It

We use your personal information to:

• Provide the service: authentication, saving your data, ATAR calculators, productivity tools (to-do lists, timetables, Pomodoro timer), and analytics features
• Improve & secure GTP: diagnostics, crash reports, usage insights, fraud/security monitoring
• Payments & subscriptions: process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe
• Support & notices: respond to support requests, send service emails (e.g., critical changes, outages)

We do not sell personal information or run third-party advertising networks.

5. ATAR Calculations & Data Processing

GTP includes ATAR estimation features that process your academic data to generate scaled scores and ATAR projections. You should be aware that:

• These calculations are performed locally and stored in your account
• ATAR estimates are based on historical scaling data and mathematical models
• We do not share your academic data or ATAR estimates with any third parties (except as required for service provision or by law)
• Your academic data is used solely to provide you with the service's features

6. Schools vs Direct Sign-ups

• School accounts: Where your school licenses GTP, the school determines the purposes of processing and we handle data on the school's behalf in accordance with our agreement and the APPs
• Direct accounts: If you sign up yourself, GTP is the APP entity for your account

7. Children and Capacity to Consent

GTP is designed for students 13 years and older.

• Where students under 13 use GTP, we rely on consent/authority from a parent/guardian or the school
• We collect only what is reasonably necessary for the service
• Parents/guardians may contact us to access or request deletion of a younger student's account, subject to legal and school obligations

8. Disclosure to Third Parties

We disclose personal information to:

Schools	For school-provisioned accounts, relevant staff may view student data within the platform

Business Transactions	If we undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer

Overseas disclosure: Our providers may process data in the United States and other locations. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients protect personal information consistently with the APPs.

9. Security

We use safeguards including:

• Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Access controls and authentication
• Least-privilege permissions
• Audit logging
• Regular security reviews

No method is 100% secure; we work continuously to reduce risk.

Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB): If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will assess and notify affected individuals and the OAIC in line with the NDB scheme.

10. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above and legal obligations.

On account closure, we will delete or de-identify your personal information unless we must keep it (e.g., financial records, dispute resolution). De-identified analytics may be retained.

11. Your Rights

Under Australian privacy law, you may:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction if information is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading
• Request deletion of your account and personal data

To make a request, use in-app support or email support@gradetrackerpro.com. We may need to verify your identity and, for school accounts, confirm with your school.

Note: Australian law does not create a general "data portability" right; we'll help with exports where reasonable.

12. Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies, local storage, and Firebase SDKs to:

• Keep you signed in
• Remember your preferences
• Measure usage and feature adoption
• Diagnose issues and improve performance

You can adjust browser settings to limit cookies, but the service may not work properly.

We do not run ads or advertising tracking.

13. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and processes payment information under its own privacy policy. We receive transaction metadata (e.g., plan type, status, subscription dates) but not full card numbers.

14. Account Transfers

Your GTP account is personal to you and cannot be transferred. If you attempt to transfer your account (e.g., to a sibling after graduation), we may terminate the account. See our Terms & Conditions for details.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. When we do:

• We'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
• For major changes, we'll provide an in-app notice or email notification

Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
